CUHK receives HK$50 million for collaborative research

Ten research projects led by CUHK received a total of about HK$50 million from the 2022/23 Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) by the Research Grants Council (RGC). Among them, four projects have been awarded a Collaborative Research Project Grant, two a Collaborative Research Equipment Grant and four the newly added Young Collaborative Research Grant (YCRG).

CUHK’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Sham Mai-har said, “The newly established YCRG under the CRF is to enable young researchers to gain experience in leading and managing collaborative research at their early career stage so as to pave the way for seeking larger collaborative research funding in future. I am very glad that the number of successful CUHK-led projects and the total funding amount received are the highest among all universities in Hong Kong. Such encouraging result indicates that CUHK has strong and vibrant young research talents and the University will continue to support them in taking on more ambitious innovative research.”

CRF supports multi-investigator and multidisciplinary research groups to encourage more research groups to engage in creative, high-quality, cross-disciplinary projects.
