New Treasurer of the University

Mr Dennis Chow Chi-in, in accordance with Statute 8 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, has been elected as Treasurer of the University for a period of three years with effect from 17 June 2023, succeeding Dr Anthony Neoh, as recommended by the Executive Committee of the Council, noting that upon his assumption of the appointment as Treasurer on 17 June 2023, Mr Chow will relinquish his appointment as a Council Member under Statute 11.1(k) of the Ordinance, and that by virtue thereof, Mr Chow will serve as a Member of the Council ex officio for the same period as his appointment as Treasurer.

Mr Chow is the Chair of Deloitte Asia Pacific and Deputy Chair of Deloitte Global. He was previously the Chair of Deloitte China and was also the lead client service partner of several blue-chip companies, overseeing all their services to these key clients. He is also a member of Financial Infrastructure and Market Development committee and member of Deposit-taking Companies Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

New Council appointment

Mr Eric Chan Cho-biu has been elected by the Board of Trustees of Chung Chi College, in accordance with Statute 11.1(e) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, as a Member of the Council with effect from 1 June 2023.

New Head of Chung Chi College

Professor Kwan Mei-po, Professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management, has been appointed as Head of Chung Chi College with effect from 1 August 2023. Professor Kwan will serve ex officio as Member of the Council under Statute 11.1(f) for the same period as her College Headship.
