United College organises the first Young Fellowship Academy
United College has launched the Young Fellowship Academy, aiming to nurture future leaders for Hong Kong society. Each year, the Academy will recruit 10 to 12 students to participate in a 20-month leadership training programme, which includes high-table dinners, overseas exchanges, and interacting with distinguished senior mentors. The college will fully sponsor the students to attend a two-week course on global leadership at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
The Young Fellowship Academy held its first high table dinner on 7 October at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin. Eleven prospective Young Fellows had the opportunity to meet and connect with their senior mentors at the dinner. Dr Ko Wing-man, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Hong Kong Executive Council Member, and Dr Clement L K Chan, 2024-2025 patron of the Young Fellowship Academy, were guests of honour.
Dr Ko shared his career stories and experiences at different stages of life with the prospective Young Fellows, encouraging them to embrace future possibilities with an open mind. Dr Chan also shared his personal experience and insights on leadership skills with the students.
