Aiming high
Thirteen young researchers from the University have made it to the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Young Scientists Fund, as it accepts applications from Hong Kong for the first time.
The thirteen scientists are Professor Dou Qi of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Duan Liting of Department of Biomedical Engineering, Professor Gu Shen of School of Biomedical Sciences, Professor Li Jingyu of Department of Management, Professor Liao Chenxi of Department of Marketing, Professor Ma Xin of Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Professor Wang Wuming of School of Biomedical Sciences, Professor Wu Jing of Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, Professor Yan Yangqian of Department of Physics, Professor Yan Zhenyu of Department of Information Engineering, Professor Yang Yang of School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Professor Zhang Jie of Department of Chemistry, and Professor Zhang Tao of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Working on basic research projects of their own choice, the budding researchers will each receive funding of RMB300,000 for their projects for three years.
