First batch of CUHK students awarded Young Donor Medal Prizes

Blood donation helps patients of diverse needs, including accident victims, surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling chronic illnesses. CUHK values contribution to the well-being of society and has been actively supporting blood donation. On 24 March, 75 active young blood donors were awarded in the presentation ceremony held in Wong Fuk Yuan Building.

Those first batch of CUHK awardees were presented Young Donor Medal Prizes by Dr Lee Cheuk-kwong, Chief Executive and Medical Director of the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service. Every single donation can help three or more patients. To motivate young people to be regular blood donors, the scheme has been initiated to award those who have donated blood thrice before their 26th birthday.
