Golden years
This year marks CUHK’s 60th anniversary. In Chinese culture, 60 years signifies a cycle of life. And many of the University’s teachers and staff may also count on a good cause to celebrate as they welcome the jubilees of their service here—a momentous personal and professional milestone that marks the consummation of a fruitful cycle and the beginning of a new one.
Serving from as early as 1987, these faithful, conscientious and uncomplaining employees of the University have been contributing their time and energy to the place they call home.
Every year, CUHK presents Long Service Awards to colleagues whose full-time service in the University has reached the thresholds of 15, 25 and 35 years. In 2022, a total of 289 staff members were admitted to the long-serving ranks, with 18 receiving the 35-year award, 73 the 25-year award and 198 the 15-year award.
A presentation ceremony for the awards will be held on campus at Lecture Theatre 1 of Yasumoto International Academic Park on 26 April. A list of long service awardees who have given consent for announcement has been posted on the Human Resources Office’s website.
