CUHK honours distinguished honorary graduates worldwide
CUHK recently conducted a series of ceremonies in Beijing, Boston and London to confer honorary degrees upon distinguished scholars from different parts of the world and celebrate their exceptional achievements.
The ceremonies were joyous occasions for the University’s leadership to reconnect with the honorary graduates in person after three years of disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The scholars were joined by their family, friends and colleagues to share the wonderful moment.
The honorary degree recipients included Professor Sir Shankar Balasubramanian (University of Cambridge, Doctor of Science, honoris causa), Professor Sir John Bell (University of Oxford, Doctor of Science, honoris causa), Professor Harvey F. Lodish (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Doctor of Science, honoris causa), Professor Hao Ping (Peking University, Doctor of Laws, honoris causa), and Professor Sir Steve Smith (University of Exeter, Doctor of Laws, honoris causa). They were selected based on their outstanding contributions in public welfare, scientific and educational progress, and the promotion of human health.
