210 CUHK scholars named among world’s top 2% scientists

Compiled by Stanford University, the “Updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators” was released in early October. A total of 210 CUHK academics have been listed among world’s top 2% scientists 2023, with 22 scholars of them ranked among the top 100 of their respective fields. The result reflects that research at the University not only maintains world-class level but also gains international recognition.

Created by the research team led by Professor John Ioannidis, the “Updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators” is a database of more than 100,000 top scientists across the world on the basis of standardised citation indicators. They were grouped into 22 subject fields and 174 sub-fields using the indicators. The indicators included information on citations, an individual’s scientific research output, co-authorship and a composite indicator for career-long citation impact up to the end of 2022.
