Student Exchange Programmes for 2024-25 open for application

Student exchange has been at the core of CUHK’s global engagement efforts.  Our first exchange partnership was established with the University of California System in 1965, just two years after the establishment of the University. Today, we partner with some 270 institutions of higher learning in over 35 countries and regions, with over 1,000 students undertaking an exchange for a summer, a term or even an academic year. For many students, these are eye-opening and life-changing experiences that fosters a broader perspective of the world and stimulates personal growth. Students have access to courses that are not available at CUHK, experience different learning styles, and develop networks and friendships that last a lifetime.

AU-YEUNG Lok Sam

Exchanged at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, USA

“During this exchange semester, I joined the School’s Saxophone Quartet, Jazz Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. Although I am the youngest in the saxophone quartet, I did not feel like I was treated any differently. When it came to making compromises and agreements during rehearsals, I appreciated the culture in that everyone’s idea is accepted equally.”

KO Tsz Ming

Exchanged at Australian National University, Australia

“My most memorable experience is that I was given the chance to assist the experiment team with their research at the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary and performed animal trapping and processing for Bettong and Quoll Monitoring. My contribution of data and other work are being used for the ongoing study and conservation project held in the nature reserve.”

SOO Hui Ying

Exchanged at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany

“There are many international conferences and meetings held in Europe. I am sincerely grateful that I had a chance to attend an UNFCCC meeting of Article 6.4 in the city of Bonn during my exchange. The meeting broadened my horizon and motivated me to learn more about environmental policy.”

There are two rounds of application and selection for CUHK Outgoing Exchange Programmes 2024-25, the first round is open until 25 October 2023, and the second round will take place during February to March 2024.
