69th graduation ceremony of Chung Chi College
Chung Chi College held its 69th Graduation Ceremony on 9 November 2023. There are nearly 700 Chung Chi graduates conferred this year.
Mr Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare and Chung Chi BBA alumnus of 1994, was invited as the Guest of Honour to deliver an insightful speech. Mr Sun pointed out that the class of 2023, being the first batch of post-epidemic graduates who have met various challenges, are well-equipped to overcome any obstacles and achieve remarkable success; Facing issues such as ageing and climate change, students should make use of their intelligence and creativity to contribute to society and the world. He not only encouraged graduates to strive diligently but also emphasised the importance of staying healthy and enjoying the process, “Wishing you all a brilliant future, and may you craft a magnificent life with your own hands.”
This year’s valedictorian is Miss Harriet Cheung Tsoi-tong from Department of History. Speaking on behalf of the class of 2023, Harriet expressed gratitude to everyone who has been part of their four-year journey, including Chung Chi teachers and staff, friends, families and the graduates themselves. She hoped that all graduates would persist in upholding the spirit of ” In Pursuit of Excellence”, and shine brightly in their respective fields in the future.
Professor Kwan Mei-po, Head of Chung Chi College, then presented certificates and gifts to the graduates. Mr Kinson Liu, Chair of Chung Chi College Alumni Association, welcomed all graduates to join the alumni association and pass on the Chung Chi spirit. The ceremony was concluded successfully with graduates tossing their caps and cheering enthusiastically.
