Connecting with international partners

Together with three local universities, CUHK rolled out the welcome mat for a delegation of representatives from 38 universities from around the world, as part of the Hong Kong Partners Week to promote the city from 5 to 8 December.

Senior university officers and faculty members from CUHK, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) greeted delegates from universities in Australia, Austria, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US last month, introducing to them the city’s attractiveness as an exchange destination, its strengths and also the spate of opportunities it offers.

The group toured around the campuses’ state-of-the-art research and student facilities, including the University’s Art Museum and School of Chinese Medicine, HKUST’s Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility and the Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute, CityU’s Milk Product Counter and Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre and PolyU’s Pao Yue-kong Library, as well as the student residences. They also visited Hong Kong Science Park, the Central district and art venues like Tai Kwun, the Palace Museum and the West Kowloon District to learn about Hong Kong’s history and cultural heritage conservation, as well as its arts and cultural development.
