China’s first homemade icebreaker Xue Long 2 will visit Hong Kong in early April. On 9 and 10 April the scientists and researchers of the vessel will attend the Global Conference for Climate Change: Polar Studies, Environment and Climate Change organised by CUHK in partnership with the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong. All are welcome to attend.
The conference aims to foster solution-oriented discussions among scientists, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and community representatives from the mainland and around the world, focusing on climate change. Distinguished keynote speakers include senior government officials and world-leading researchers. The event will also feature panel sessions and a dialogue between students and scientists from Xue Long 2.
