Overseas school counsellors gathered to explore higher education opportunities

CUHK has brought together a group of school counsellors and teachers from different countries in a pioneering programme that helps them explore higher-education opportunities in Hong Kong for their students.

The inaugural International Counsellor Fly-in Programme, organised by CUHK in partnership with Hong Kong Baptist University from 12 to 15 March, welcomed a total of 27 counsellors from high schools in countries including Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Africa and Vietnam. It highlights CUHK’s role as a leading advocate for global education inclusivity and commitment to the development of a truly international student community.

At CUHK, the participants took part in a wide range of activities on the campus, including an introduction to the University’s mission and academic programmes, thematic talks on student support and postgraduate opportunities, interactive faculty fairs, and guided tours to the colleges, schools and laboratories.

The scheme equips the counsellors with first-hand information on pursuing higher education in Hong Kong and at CUHK, while also offering the University feedback for refining its strategies in international outreach and student support.
