Professor Song Xinyuan named Institute of Mathematical Statistics Fellow

Professor Song Xinyuan, Chair of the Department of Statistics, has been elected to the fellowship of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS).

The IMS Fellowship is a lifelong title that honors their members’ outstanding research and professional contributions. The institute was set up in 1935 to foster the development and dissemination of the theory and applications of statistics and probability.

Professor Song’s research interests cover the Bayesian method, latent variable models, nonparametric and semiparametric methods, statistical computing, statistical diagnostics and survival analysis.
