CUHK clinches overall champion in rowing tournament

CUHK’s Rowing Team attained impressive results at the HILX Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2024, held from 24-25 August on the banks of the Shing Mun River.

All eight UGC-funded universities participated in the annual competition, where the CUHK team swept up a total of 11 medals, including four golds, while also winning the Men’s Overall Champion and the Women’s First Runners-up titles. They were also crowned Overall Champion based on their accumulated points.

Dr Elean Leung Fung-lin, Director of CUHK’s Physical Education Unit, stated her pride at the rowing team’s success: “They trained hard throughout the summer to prepare for the event, and finally got the rewards they deserved. I am honoured to witness their growth and success, and hope that this will inspire all student athletes.”
