Inclusive Museum Exhibition

The Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change (MoCC) of CUHK is dedicated to supporting individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to take action to reduce carbon emissions and embrace a sustainable way of life. Over the past year, MoCC collaborated with the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies (CSLDS) of CUHK and the Audio Description Association (Hong Kong) (AuDeAHK) to develop climate-related educational materials, particularly for those with special needs.

MoCC launched the Inclusive Museum and held the Inclusive Museum Exhibition Opening Ceremony on 27 November. Officiating at the ceremony were Professor Gladys Tang Wai-lan, Director of CSLDS, Dr Dawning Leung, Founder of AuDeAHK, Cecilia Lam, Director of MoCC and Lily Chung, Director of CUHK Diversity and Inclusion Office.

The Inclusive Museum Exhibition features interpretations in Hong Kong Sign Language and audio guides for selected exhibits, making crucial climate information more accessible to a wider audience. This initiative aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can engage with and learn from the MoCC exhibits and become part of Hong Kong’s climate action. The museum now features 11 exhibits that include Hong Kong Sign Language videos and audio guides with audio description content.
