Choh-Ming Li and Wei Lun Professorships awarded

On 4 March, CUHK inaugurated two Choh-Ming Li professors, two Wei Lun professors and presented teaching and research awards to other members of the University.

The four appointed professors are:

Choh-Ming Li Professorship:
Heng Pheng-ann, Faculty of Engineering Choh-Ming Li Professor of Computer Science and Engineering
Wei Juncheng, Faculty of Science Choh-Ming Li Professor of Mathematics
 
Wei Lun Professorship:
Michael Zhang Xiaoquan, Faculty of Business Administration Wei Lun Professor of Business AI
Simon Ng Siu-man, Faculty of Medicine Wei Lun Professor of Surgery

Also at the ceremony, 30 CUHK members were presented with various teaching and research awards, including the University Education Award, the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award, the Young Researcher Award and the Postgraduate Research Output Award. Officiating the event, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming congratulated all honourees: “I express my greatest gratitude for their staunch commitment to excellence, which echoes with that of the University, and for being exemplary role models for fellow faculty members, motivating them to embrace innovation in their teaching and pursue impactful research,”

“With ‘people’ being the key to success of any world-class university, their crucial contributions have established CUHK as a beacon of knowledge and inspired students to strive hard for their personal goals,” he said.
